Bridge approaching completion

September 14, 2026

The Municipality is approaching the completion of a long-awaited project. The Gold River Trail Bridge Rehabilitation project is expected to wrap up in late fall rather than the original finish date of February 2027.

The latest update includes completed concrete placement for the east abutment footing, and the three-part coating system was applied to the top flanges of both the east and west spans. Timber deck ties have been reinstalled along the east span.

Concrete placement for the east abutment bearing wall is scheduled for this week. That will require three days of curing before the placement of remaining forms for the abutment ballast walls. Compressive strength tests will commence during the pours, and then the abutment will be complete. Eight bearings will be replaced, including construction of new concrete bearing pedestals, beginning with bridge jacking at the center pier.

The Municipality will meet with partners to begin planning a late fall grand opening!
