Hello Chester residents! We're Boardwalk Studios, a group of Dalhousie University Master of Planning students, and we're embarking on an exciting project with the Municipality of Chester. As the Province moves forward with replacing the Tancook Island Ferry with a new vessel that docks in Blandford, Chester is met with a significant opportunity to reimagine what the Tancook Island Ferry Wharf could look like and mean for the community moving forward. To reimagine the Tancook Island Ferry Wharf we aim to blend history, community visions, and the essence of Chester's waterfront to propose recommendations for the future of the site. As we dive into the rich tapestry of the Village's working waterfront, your input is the compass guiding our vision. Join us in workshops, surveys, and social media conversations as we weave together the past, present, and future of this cherished coastal gem.

    Where: Chester Legion Branch 44. 14 Union Street, Chester NS. B0J 1J0.

    When: Wednesday, March 6th, 2024. We will be hosting two sessions, 3pm-5pm and 6pm-8pm.

    What to expect: Each session will start with a sit-down public presentation about the project and an open floor for discussion following the presentation. An open house event with multiple stations will follow this. Participants are welcome to stay for some or stay for all!
