Phase 2 Project “Chester Surround”
Project Overview: Develop Nova Scotia / Bell Phase 2 project 'Chester Surround' - wired network service for the Aaldersville area, Seffernville area, New Russell area, and Canaan area.
Lead: Bell, with investment from Develop Nova Scotia’s Internet for Nova Scotia Initiative program.
Cost: $17,382,902 total investment for both Phase 2 projects from Bell and Develop Nova Scotia. Municipality of Chester contribution for the Chester Surround project = $56,400.

Status: Project announced in September 2020.Estimated date of completion: July-September 2022
Notes: As of October 20, 2021 Bell notes: There are currently a total of 140 DNS-Bell Phase 2/3 projects in Nova Scotia. “Chester Surround” is priority 51 on the list of projects and is still on schedule. Most of the Bell engineering is completed for this project and NSPI is currently determining ‘Make Ready’ requirements.
