The purpose of this short survey is to gather opinions on some important issues facing Chester Village. Several topics have a long history of debate, while others may be new to you. Please take time to think about these issues and provide your thoughts and opinions. Responses will be used to inform policy decisions for the revised Planning Strategy for the Village of Chester.

This brief survey seeks input on the current level of protection offered to Registered Heritage Properties in Chester Village. Do you think more protection and regulation are needed to ensure valuable heritage properties are not altered or destroyed? Do you feel that heritage protection initiatives interfere with creating a modern and affordable place to live? All thoughts are welcome!

This survey is seeking opinions and comments on several forms of digital signage. This type of signage is currently prohibited in Chester Village. 

• This survey is seeking feedback on the level of architectural control that is appropriate within Chester Village. Architectural control regulations can take many forms but typically regulate the exterior appearance of a structure and do not limit the interior design. Currently there are two areas within Chester Village where development must conform with the listed architectural controls. This survey asks questions about the level of current regulation, the areas that have architectural controls and the balance in regulating the appearance of structures when contrasted with a desire to support the creation of more affordable housing.
